Caravan Holiday Park Yorkshire

Yorkshire Popular Attractions

If you don’t want to spend all your time on your holiday park, then why not take a look at a few of the fantastic places to visit in Yorkshire.

York Dungeon

Come to The York Dungeon and take a tour through the gruesome history through the years of the beautiful City of York. You will encounter the murderous Vikings on their rampage, visit the plague-ravaged streets of the city during the 14th Century, meet Guy Fawkes who was born in York, be a spectator at the Witchcraft Trials and see Dick Turpin on his trip to the gallows. But be warned keep a vigilant eye out as you never know who or what will pop out to see you as the ‘exhibits’ have a habit of coming back to life… At night The York Dungeon offers ghost tours around the city of York, are you up for it?

Lightwater Valley

When you come to Lightwater Valley the first thing you will need to decide is what you want to first as you have 3 choices. There’s the theme park for the thrill-seekers, the birds of prey centre for the nature-lovers and the Shopping Village for the shopaholics!

The theme park comprises 3 ranges of rides, Jaw Droppers…the most daring of the rides, Whipper Snappers and Nippers…rides suitable for the younger members of the family. Which range suits you best? Or will you visit the Birds of Prey Centre where you can learn all about the birds on show but be warned not only are birds on view, take a trip to the Creepy Crawly Cave and come face-to-face with snakes, tarantula’s and pythons. If you love to shop take a trip to the Shopping Village and browse the outlet shops on offer.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Get yourself a day rover ticket and spend the day on a steam train travelling up and down the 18 mile route between the market town of Pickering and village of Grosmont, and at certain times, onto the fishing town of Whitby, popular for its fresh fish and chip suppers.

This is a fabulous and spectacular way for you to explore the North Yorkshire parkland as you can get on or off at any of the stations along the route. When you stop at the pretty village of Goathland you might recognise some of the sites as this is the village known as Aidensfield in ITV’s Heartbeat programme.
